RLKC2002 is switched
Well, after looking into this procedure since 2008, I finally had it done. As of Friday, Oct 14, I'm on the dark side. Even after all of the research, it doesn't prepare you for reality afterwards. It's a constant struggle to get my water and protein in. Water makes me bulch, which is weird. That's even when I sip it very slowly. I got a few baby spoons to help me eat yogurt so that I don't eat too quickly. So far, no puking, so that's good.
Still pretty weak, so I'm not on the board much right now. Thanks for all of the support from the vets on this board!!

Slow and steady, Renee. Try adding a little fresh lime or lemon juice to your water and sweeten with Splenda to taste. Welcome to the dark side!

Renee, fluids and protein are still a work for me, but I do get them in. It just takes a lot of effort for me. I have to eat every 2 hours or my stomach gets a sick feeling. I have been getting my protein in with foods, but here lately, my consumption has decreased, so have been using protein drinks to supplement.
I used a sippy cup to get my fluids in at first, and it worked.
Good luck and welcome to the Dark Side!
