Dating after DS...the poop issue.

Hello everyone.

So I have a question for the single folks out there and meeting someone new.  I am sure even those not single can give some input. 

A friend and also fellow single DS'er and myself have been discussing and trying to tackle DS dating, and poop.  I am just wondering when I do finally meet someone, and the slumber parties start, how am I going handle the poop situation. 

For me - like clockwork I go poop atleast 2-3x between 5am and 7am.  The smell is my biggest worry.  So I am like what if we are out of town, in close quarters like a hotel room and I have to go to the bathroom, the smell is going to be very hard to cover.  Or what if he has a small bachelors pad of an apartment, and same issue with small quarters.  I have 2 bathrooms in my apartment, so I can go to the bathroom. 

As I am hot on the dating scene nowadays, although I am not serious, or spending nights with anyone, I think I am putting up walls of letting someone getting close to me because of that.

Also - does that Devrom work for anyone?

It is a problem. No matter who you meet if they love you they take you as a package. My hubby complains every morning thru ritual air freshner spraying if he comes behind me in  the morning which inevitably he has to since I also has the 5-6 am bathroom run. Good luck! Honestly even I cringe from the smell every day. I dread if I ever use it outside of my home. God bless whoever comes into work bathroom after me- I feel for them. oh yeah devrom does not help me at all. I am hoping the smell get better with time... I am just a newbie so idk.

 Spraying airfreshner into the toilet before you go helps. Also flushing during makes a difference. 
But for me the airfreshner in the toilet works best. Then spraying right after into the air.

..... Holy cow people is it really THAT BAD???? I had a friend for a long time who had the stinkiest poops I ever experienced; my theory was that she processed fat better, and poops with more fat stink more. So that means ours would stink a lot, but seriously, all poop stinks! If you flush right after it comes out and then use some kind of nice air freshener, maybe it won't linger so much.

But really... is it THAT BAD?????

What about using candles when having sexyfuntime? Then it can just be part of the all around ambiance, kwim?

It's pretty bad for many of us so you figure out how to deal with it. Don't freak out though. lol

For me, early out, it was pretty bad.  I would say for about 6-8 months.  Nowdays it's only bad when I eat something bad, like the day I ate, oh, 6 or 7 deviled eggs, nothing worse than eggs.  If I have a lot of carbs for a few days in a row, kinda bad. 

Personally, I don't think the smell is any worse than pre-op but it sure lingers a hell of a lot longer.

**** stinks, that's all there is to it and if somone can figure out how to make it not stink they will make a fortune.

Yes it is that bad.  Especially early out.  What, you think we just make this stuff up to scare off people from getting the DS?

I am just starting dating and poops and farts are a HUGE worry.  HUGE.

I don't know how I am going to handle it.  Because I am BOUND to let go a HUGE fart at just the wrong wrong time.  I think I will die.  As for poops?  Sharing a bathroom is a scary damn proposition.  I am taking air freshener and I use the spray the water first, flush several times and keep on spraying.  And then do some praying that he isn't a super sensitive sniffer.

 No, I don't think anyone is making it up!  OTOH I constantly see this touted as one of the untrue stereotypes of the DS;  that everyone with the DS will have uncontrollable horrendous stinky poop and gas all the time.  My perception has been that it is largely controllable by watching the carbs and just learning what foods your new system is sensitive to... not that most DSers walk around like giant stink bombs everywhere they go.  

I met two DSers!  NEITHER of them smelled the slightest bit odd!  Neither of them burst forth in uncontrollable gas during the meal! 

It just seems like on the one hand you have people saying, oh that is a stereotype and untrue... and then on the other you have the people saying "OMGZ it is SO TRUE run for the hills!!!!"  

It's a little confusing!
