In States/Mexico.....

What's the best prices for a GOOD DS surgeon stateside? Hopefully Cali because we know there aren't any in Vegas that we know of....

What about Ungson? He's up to 16k for in Mexico? Crazy high priced, that's what I spent in Spain in '05.

I haven't kept up on prices lately, seems like with so many sleeves being done, the DS would be a bit lower in price. My husband is perpetually struggling with weight, even with exercising like a maniac... he doesn't think the sleeve would be enough with eventual stretching.

K know he doesn't have anything close to lose what I did, but I'm so thankful everyday for the DS. I would NOT want to see him end up witha crappy rny. We will be self-pay, so costs do make quite a difference.

Any thoughts?

Diana was posting a link last month to a California surgeon who was offering a discount. I don't know if the time has run out now. I think you may be looking at at least $20K in the US for an open DS...thinking Dr Peters in PA. Also, you might want to check the DS surgeons in TX. Their contact info would be on www.dsfacts.com. Thinking of Dr Stewart...

I've heard 16K bandied about as Dr. Ungson's price for a DS (lap).  On this board, at least, I've never seen anything higher than 13K quoted as the fee for open DS.  Don't know what the last several months have done to the US dollar in Mexico, though.

Don't know about prices and such. Just wanted to say wow. I read your siggy and was blown away. You have done awesome!!!! A rock star I tell you. I hope everything works out for your DH and he gets his DS soon! Good luck!
