We've done this in the past and it was REALLY helpful to me at the time.  Can we do it again?  Just list your protein go-to items that you rely on as a big part of your DS diet.

I'll start:

Cake Shakes
Brok's Pizza
Eggs cooked every which way
Fried cheese with SF syrup.

What are your favorite protein foods and snacks?

I don't have this as often as I would like, but I'm a big fan of: ham and cream cheese pinwheels.

Salmon patties, lots of onion and egg, pretty light on the crumbs.

Gyro, but just eat the guts out of it, and toss the pita.  (I've been having a lot of that lately.)

Chicken thighs in the crock pot all day.  They're ready for me when I get home.

Trader Joe's raw almonds (the carbs equal the protein, so I don't go crazy on those, though)

Cheese - all kinds! Keep many different ones around. Sliced in baggies and ready to grab from frig
Keilbasa (don't eat the skins) - can be hard to digest and makes The Alien wake up, but yummy
Hot dogs - all beef - Hebrew National
Greek yogurt with a touch of preserves and agave
Fried egg with cheese
Wendy's chili
Cheese sticks - mozarella, pepper jack, colby jack
Boiled eggs
Trader Joes fish nuggets - have light batter, doesn't bother me, however.Use with full fat tartar sauce
Camp bacon (maple flavor) - mostly cooked bacon that just needs crisping in microwave or on camp stove
Precooked maple sausage - add cheese slice, yum!
My mom's spaghetti sauce - absolutely yummy - no noodles needed! Add cheese for more yum.
Did I mention cheese? LOL.

Hugs,
Ratkity

"Becky, wish I could get the fried cheese right. "

Me too.  It sounds really yummy.   I tried a white mexican cheese a couple of months ago and it didn't work.  Burnt on the bottom and had a weird consistency in the middle.  It also was not good with syrup.

Maybe I'll try again if I can find the right kind of cheese.

Becky - Do you mind sharing (again) what kind of cheese you use?

Queso Blanco is preferred.  I can't find it here so I use  Queso Panella.

THANK YOU!

I will now be going on a quest to find Queso Blanco so that I may indulge in this yumminess this weekend.

I don't have blanco here, but I can attest to the queso panela. It's awesome!

Can you tell me what protein cofe is? Is it just coffee with dry mix added?

Protein coffee:
Mix 1/2 and 1/2 (or heavy cream plus a little water) with 1 1/2 to 2 scoops of protein powder of choice in a blender bottle. Pour in cup and add hot coffee. If the coffee is too hot, the protein will cook and get chunky and awful. Always add the hot to the cold.

Protein ideas: IDS cinnamon vanilla
Half IDS cinnamon vanilla and Champion chocolate
All Champion chocolate.

I often top mine with whipped cream.
