3 month labs are scheduled for this Friday morning.
My surgeon didn't give me any instructions.
I believe I should be fasting. No food after midnight, right?
Can I have water???

P.S. I can't stay off the toilet this morning, I had to skip my work out

You still have time to call your doctor to get proper instructions.  Generally speaking you can expect to have to be fasting for labs that involve testing for lipids, blood glucose, and a few others that may or may not be on your lab slip.  Fasting is usually nothing to eat for 8 - 12 hours before the blood draw.   Again, check with your doctor on this.

Quest Diagnostics states that plain water is allowed during the fasting stage.  Be sure to be very hydrated prior to the blood draw to make it easier on you and the lab tech when they go looking for a vein.

full fast is correct, nothing for 12-14 hrs (to be safe will encompass all blood work) before your blood work.  You can always have water for blood work and you should, but nothing else.....congrats on your 3 months....
