Weeee!! I'm so excited, I got approved today from Anthem Blue Cross! They had my file for 4 days! Dr. Rabkin has an opening next week and I'm taking it! Otherwise, he won't be available until Thanksgiving. I know it's quick, but I'd rather be doing well w/ recovery by the holidays. Am I crazy for going in next week? I'm thoroughly prepared, researched, and not scared, I just can't believe I'm doing this NEXT WEEK!

Any last minute advice before Oct 20, 12:30 pm?

That's awesome.  I had mine 13 days after approval so you are my hero.  I was glad it was so quick.  Rabkin is the best surgeon in the world.  I tell him that every time I see him.  I'm bias though!!!  Feel free to read my Pearls of Wisdom in my profile.
Cheers,
Cathy

Rabkin is the best.  Mine was with his brother, but I saw them both.  I have never regretted it!  Best of luck!!!

Lisa,

I am so thrilled for you. Dr. John was my DS doc, too. You can read my profile for my experience there. I think the world of him and his practice.

Advice? Pack less than you think you need to bring with you. Wear a dress or soft pants home. As soon as they say it's okay, get up and walk. Drink plenty of fluids--critically important!

If you feel nausea, make sure they give you something for it in the hospital--you'll feel so much better.

I'm seeing him on Monday at our Chicago support group meeting and will give him a pep talk for your case. LOL.

Congratulations!!!

JUst take one thing to wear there and home, something loose,,, not  confining, as you may still have a drain... old sweats are good

I took a pillow as hospital ones are sooo flat  .. I like my head up higher.

sip sip sip,, ounce at a time.. walk when they let you  more if you can.

I had hand wipes that smelled good made me feel better as I could not do a shower for a few days..

Good LUCK !!
