OT- avatar help

 I am trying to update my avatart picture.  I got it uploaded and it shows up on my avatar page as uploaded...however...My actual avatar is still my old one.  Anyone know how to fix this?  I looked at FAQs and have changed my avatar every year so far so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
