Good Hematologist in Raleigh area?
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone in the Triangle area may have stumbled across a good hematologist that they could recommend. I hope to find someone that will agree that I need an iron transfusion.

RNY 11/00 with starting BMI of 57. Most lost was 52% EWL and BMI of 41.
Gained back every single pound.
Revision to DS 12/08 with starting BMI of 57 (again)
Over 3 years DS post-op, currently BMI of 26.3
200lbs. gone as of 6/27/10 !! I'm HALF of the old me as of 10/8/10 !! ONEderland 3/7/11 !!

I don't know of a specific one in the Triangle, but I had the best luck going through a hematologist at the hospital's cancer center. He's not the best with my OTHER labs, but he's good when it comes to getting my iron levels up. He kind of dismissed me when I told him about all of the labs I'll be needing in the future.
But, eh, whatever... my PCP is great in that area. I'll just use this other doctor for my iron infusions! I had my PCP refer me to a hema, and that's how I got in. I tried calling a few in the area to see if they would accept self-referral, but none would around here.
