3 month update
so far so good. When i was a fresh post op i couldn't do protein shakes for about 6 months. After that I have had no problem. If that is encouraging at all, i don't know. I couldn't get anywhere near an egg protein shake. The smell just about killed me.
Don't worry about the weightloss. It sounds pretty normal to me. I think you will be pleased at how well your DS works. GIve yourself a break and enjoy the ride. I wouldn't stress about an exercise plan yet. Walking is good, but don't give yourself something that you will beat yourself up about later. Be sure to give yourself a chance to heal.
Keep up the great work, sweets.

Thanks Rena. (You look great by the way). It is encouraging to know that someone else had the intolerances but I hate that you had to go through them. If I can gag it down I will. As long as I don't end up in the bathroom for an hour! You give good advice!

Just to comment on your weight loss...I was a fairly slow loser too (as a virgin DS'er). My loss looked very similar to yours the first three months. But I continued to lose fairly consistently 8 - 10 lbs a month, with a couple typical slow-downs. And I kept losing past the 2 yr mark and got pretty darn close to a normal bmi (which looks pretty ok on my frame).
All that to say...Don't worry. It will be ok. You will lose the weight. Just keep doing the right things.

I need to lose about 2 more pounds for a normal BMI . I still seem to be slowly losing at over 2 yrs out...so may get there yet.
Thanks Ann! When you are on the outside looking in it makes so much sense. But when you feel like you are a slow loser its nerve racking. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others but it does help to hear from others with similar losing experiences.
