What vites and how many do you take?

 I seem to be a big malabsorber, so I take a LOT a day to keep my labs up.   Here's what I take:

Vitamin D - 150,000 to 200,000 iu
Vitamin A     100,000 iu
Zinc               150 mg
Copper             4 mg
Vitamin B12     5 mcg (I think)
Super B            1 per day
Vitamin E        800 mg
Vit K 1                * can't remember dose off hand
Vit K 2                * can't remember dose off-hand
Boron
Mag citrate    1,000 mg 
Mag ox              varies
Calcium         5,000 to 7,000 mg a day
**I take this in various forms, as much as I can get in
2 multivitamins

i do feel that VitaLady's DS schedule is a good place to start.  I take all of that, but have adjusted since (several times), based on my labs.  I believe I take more D, A, and B12 than that now (i can't remember what she starts at).  i also take a probiotic (primal defense ultra) and for a period i took biotin as well.

but $100/month for good health is pretty decent, imo.

If you cannot afford to keep yourself healthy for the longterm with a DS,  then DO NOT GET A DS.  Vitmains and supplements,  in the correct forms,  are NOT OPTIONAL.

Vitamins are not the only expense...there may be many other things you need that will not necessarily be covered by insurance - iron infusions,  various meds,  specialist consults,  dexa scans,  etc etc

Also possibly lactaid, beano, acid reducers, probiotics...

...also the DS diet is a lot more expensive - protein is expensive,  carbs are not.

Consider very very carefully if the DS life is affordable for you before you take the leap...

I understand that, but this is a cost that you should bear in mind if you're pursuing WLS.  DSers take a few more vitamins than others, but most of them should be supplementing somehow. 

For DSers in particular, this is not optional.  It is vital.  No negotiating.  No skipping days.

If you do not have $100 per month for DS needs,  don't do it.   DON'T DO IT.

Can I ask you to share the link to the topic you are referring to?  The majority of people with a DS that I have seen post on this forum state they pay closer to the $75 to $100 range monthly.  Are you sure you did not ask that question on the main board?  That would make more sense to me if people with other WLS's were responding.
Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is.
