Surgery time?

I am wondering how long most of you were "under" the knife? I realize a virgin will be different than a revison as well as a lap vs. an open.....but I am hoping everyone will chime in here anyway. I would like to see the variance.

Approximately 6 1/2 hours.... apparently, my liver was quite a bit more enlarged than my ultrasound report led him to believe and he had a bit of a problem working around (or under) it as my surgery was lap, and he did everything he could to keep from having to open me up. He said if it had gone any longer and he WOULD have converted to open, but the anesthesiologist assured him all my vitals were strong and stable, which is why he allowed it to go as long as it did.

I'm thankful.... though an open procedure wouldn't have been the end of the world (lots of ppl here had their DS open), I'm glad I was able to remain lap.

I was in the operating room for 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was a virgin lap DS and that inclues gallbladder removal.
