Velveeta Queso Blanco
Has anyone tried it? Is it as good as the queso blanco that is raved about on here so often? I can't find anything else, but saw a block of it in the store yesterday. I didn't even look at the stats, but I'm thinking regular Velveeta has more carbs than regular cheese.
Thoughts?

Yeah, sometimes I do just kinda crave velveeta...even though it really doesn't taste as good now as it did when I was a kid. I swear I can taste the preservatives. As a rule, I try not to eat "cheese" with as many carbs as protein, but that's just me. If you ever take a look at some of the Kraft-style knock off cheeses--sometimes I found some with no protein because they were made with oil and carbs instead of milk.
I've never tried the velveeta version of this, but I have a suspicion it's not as good. Queso blanco usually comes in a smaller round or block. You will probably have to venture over to that "special cheese" section to find it. Here in TX, they lump it with the regular cheese because it's so popular, but I'm not sure it's the same everywhere. So I'd look for it over where you'd find other international cheeses -- feta, gorgonzola, fresh mozzarella, etc. Might have better luck at an international market or place like Whole Foods.
