No BM in 4 days
OK,
I am a patient with DS malabsorption and had regular BM before surgery and loose BM after surgery. I just realized that I have not had a BM in 4 days and keep having some pain on right side and back and in stomach. I keep going to bathroom hoping I am going to to have a BM. I was wondering if any of you fellow DS ers have had a problem with not having BM. I have also realize for the last two days it have been hard to get in protein because I feel full constantly. Any suggestions from the wise people out there.

i do not have experience with this personally, but I would suggest you call your surgeon's office to at least chat with a nurse there. Anyone who has had an abdominal surgery is at risk for partial or full bowel obstruction, I know that the symptoms can vary, but I also know that you can't wait on this, if it is even a remote suspicion. Call someone who can better advise you.
