 I know  parents where there for a visit and planned to ride the storm out with her, but I have not heard from her since before the storm.....

How sweet of you to think of me! I'm doing just fine--my parents did stay and ride out Irene, we had minimal damage, lost two of my favorite trees in the back yard and that was it for damage. Our power was only out for 13 hours but the worse was our cable and internet was down for almost 4 days. We all had the shakes!!  It took us about four days to clean up all the debris and burn it all. My parents stayed for another week and then I was busy doing other stuff and forgot about posting.  Sorry about that, but it sure is nice to know you were thinking of me.

I am so glad everything went as well as it did! Sorry to hear about your withdrawl. When a storm knocked us out of electric it was terrible not having a computer and that was only a few hours. LOL
