I switched PCP's too because my old PCP was not on board either.  When I went to visit the new PCP I wrote a very detailed letter stating why I wanted WLS (specifically the DS), the struggles I've had with my weight through out my life (yo-yo dieting), what my expectations of WLS were, the changes I could anticipate (like the vitamins and diet), my co-morbidities, etc.  It proved to my new PCP I had done my research and was a good candidate.  He approved me on my very first visit!

Good luck to you!  Too bad you're not near Ann Arbor, Michigan I would refer you to my PCP.  Best one I've found in years (including the staff)!
