Lots of great advise has been given here, I really don't have much to add to these very smart responses. It's hard to go through these changes without support people that are near you or that are not 100% behind you. There are some DS people in Colorado...you need to try to get in with them to at least meet once a month. There are some that are on the OH FB page. You can email me or call if you want me to help you get in touch with some of them.
You are so sweet, it was great to meet you when you were here for your surgery. You will have no problems meeting new friends as you are turning into a new you!

Thank you Lisa!  I do think meeting local people who have the DS would be beneficial.  It was awesome to meet you, too!  You are a very sweet person yourself!
