Why are you avoiding grains?  Even whole grains??

Ugh, OH is being stupid...I keep trying to reply, and I get an error "You must specify a message" even though I write it all out every time. So let's try again...

Yes, even whole grains. I generally avoid starchy carbs (grains, potatoes, corn, etc.). The human body does not require dietary carbs for anything, and grains don't contain nutrients you can't get elsewhere, which they do require some increased nutrients in order to be able to be processed by the body (such as vitamin C). I also have a personal history of type 2 diabetes (diagnosed when I was 25), so I keep carbs low so as to not invite an encore appearance.

Starchy carbs also make me painfully gassy (and it's not a gluten issue because this also happens with potato and corn products). Grains are also generally not god for imflamation, and I have a strong family history of bad arthritis. So, this isn't just a pregnancy diet thing.
