Hey Y'all! Yep I fell off the face of the earth! Things in life are crazy what an insane rollercoaster ride! Most good some bad. My life doesn't even faintly resemble the life I lived just one short year ago... I am getting divorced. I recently found out I am pregnant. I have lost 140 lbs and want to loose another 10-20 but that is the least of my concerns right now... Just my stats for an update then on to a few questions...
down from a size 26 jeans to an 8!
down from a 3XL shirt to a medium.
Shoe size dropped from a 10 to and 8.5-9
Bra size from a 40 DD to a 36 B LOL Yep they are GONE!!

I love my DS wouldnt trade a thing. The carb monster has gotten ahold of me a few times and weight loss has slowed to a CRAWL but that's ok with me 140 lb in 11 months I can not complain!!!

So here is what I posted on the pregnant after WLS forum... It doesnt seem to be very busy so i figured I'd post it here as well n maybe some of our DS Mommy's could help me out.
I had my DS September 2010. Found out I am 8 weeks pregnant. It was a total shock I'm scared and just plain don't know what to do. I am not done loosing weight but more importantly I am at a loss with the vitamins aspect of this. I follow vitaladys plan and so far my labs have been all with in normal range somethings trending down. So ladies who have had the DS and became pregnant can you offer me any guidance or words of wisdom?? Like are there any vitamins I need to increase or decrease add or stop taking??? Man this is scary. I hadn't intended on another pregnancy this will be my fourth baby. I plan a call to my surgeon on Monday in hopes that He and my OB can work together on this.

Thanks Y'all :)

I've never been pregnant, pre or post DS, so I cannot help much there.  I just wanted to wish you well with your new little one.  I am not sure if I should say congratulations, as it sounds like your situation is complicated, so don't want to say something that will be considered rude.  But I do wish you well my dear.  Hang in there.

First, congratulations on your weight loss success!  Second, I'd be pretty scared if I were in your shoes as well!  Even now, I've got 2 girls--one who is 17 months and if I had an accidental pregnancy I'd be freaking out.

So regarding DS and pregnancy (I'm pre-op so I'm still doing research on this): I was told that we should wait at least 18-24 months before getting pregnant after the DS because there is a higher risk of miscarriage and nutritional issues for the baby.  So, that being said, you're already pregnant so you've got to work with what you've got.  I think you're right to contact your surgeon and I'd do whatever I could to contact a good specialist with the DS--anywhere in the US.  You might try calling one of the veted surgeons to see if they have a NUT who is actually experienced in the DS diet.  You need to make sure you're getting enough nutrients to support brain development in the baby.  I'd imagine the malabsorption of fat and protein could be a big issue.  But I'm sure you'll get the care you need as long as you're on top of it.  You did a good job just posting this on the board.

So, I'll say once again, congratulations on your amazing success in weight loss!  And I wish you all the best with this new little baby! I'm sure it'll be totally different being a THIN mommy and being able to run around with the little one once he/she is here.

Sher-
p.s. I hope this didn't come off as harsh or judmental.  It's hard to tell how something written comes off.  But I'm sending hugs and best wishes.
