I appreciate the child talk more than you can imagine however I meant talk to me as if I was 5 to explain the differences to me so I understood and didn't have to bother anyone again and possibly pass it on to someone who needed the info too.  If I was going to listen to my surgeon and believe he was the one stop shop for post-op vites I never would of posted this thread :)  I may not of also said below how I rely on the vets more than I do most dr's..... But I guess you didn't read that far. :)  I still love you :)

No... I've tried BA's chewable and Vitaladys Tender Iron.

Liquid iron will turn your teeth brown... if you mix the tsp into a glass of water though, this will help to reduce the discolouration. Just a heads up to be very diligent about your oral hygeine.

I love Dr. G. dearly. You know this. He SUCKS THE BIG ONE on the subject of postop supplementation and followup on that stuff. However, he respects Vitalady and will not yell at you if you follow her advice :-).

Do you have the small (60 mg "chewable") Tender Iron or the capsule?

I have the capsules.... the big orange mean looking capsules.

So I had a cup of tea cleared my mind and went back and reread everything.  I'm just going to suck it up and gag on these tender irons until I get my labs, if my iron is low I am all for a transfusion.  If not than it's worth all the extra effort.  I'm also going to try the Proferrin but I can't grab that until I get paid next.

FYI.... I take two FERREX 150 FORTE PLUS each day with a 500 mg of Vit C and it keeps me in a good spot lab wise.

They are capsules.. Might be an option. Check and see if your insurance will pay for them.

Have you tried crushing your bariatric chewable iron or any type of iron... empty the capsules and put the contents in orange juice or a beverage of your liking to mask the taste and drink from a straw (so not to stain teeth).  I've done this before.... crush my iron with a vitamin crusher and mixed with lots of juice or I've even mixed it with peanut butter.  I don't ever taste the iron.  And then I brush my teeth right afterwards.
