What about PTH, ferritin,  Vits A, D, E, K?

PEOPLE!!!

There are threads upon threads on this site which list what you need tested.  Find it, print it,  take it to your doctor and GET IT DONE.

Where's the rest?

Also it helps the vitamin gurus if you can post any previous labs and your current vitamin regimine.

Looks like the bottom part of my post got cut off.  Ferritin is 68.  That seems to be the only thing cut off other than my note that I have my one-year follow-up tomorrow and am hoping to get some feedback on what may appear to be in-range for a normie but not a DS'er.

As I was inputting this into my spreadsheet, I realized I haven't gotten the results back from the Vitamin labs yet...I assumed they had sent me all results at once, but apparently they will be coming in separately.  I will post the rest when I get them.

I have my results from pre-op, 3 months, and 6 months, so will post those as well.

My vitamin regimine is Vitalady's with some changes based on my past labs:

  • Vitamin A 100,000 IU
  • Vitamin B-12 5,000 mcg
  • Vitamin C 2,000 mg
  • Vitamin D 100,000 IU
  • Vitamin E 800 IU
  • Vitamin K-1 1,000 mcg
  • B-50 Complex (1)
  • Multivitamin (2)
  • Calcium Citrate 1800 mg (elemental)
  • Iron 300 mg (elemental)
  • Magnesium Citrate 280 mg (elemental)
  • Zinc 100 mg (chelated)
  • Vitamin B-9 Folic Acid 1,200 mcg
  • Maxi-Hair (2) (includes Biotin 4,000 mcg)
  • Selenium 400 mcg
I'll post the vitamin lab results as soon as I get them.

I'd get B12 injections based on that number. That's the only thing that jumps out at me so far. We'll see what the other results say when you get them.

You need to bring your B12 up. Be sure to get the PTH. Your Alkaline Phosphatase is high. Could mean that you are leaching calcium from your bones.

I think I'll have to have them take my PTH tomorrow, along with my prealbumin, which didn't come in with the rest of the metabolic panel.  I'm waiting to see what else does and does not come in to see what else needs to be added.  I thought the entire vitalady list of labs was included, but apparently not.

D3 is very low too - 58 pre-op, 52 at 3 months, 37 at six months, and in spite of increasing from 50,000 to 100,000IU daily, it is now at 26 at 12 months.  I remember reading that had an effect on calcium absorption as well, so I'll have to figure out what to do about that.

Your vitamin list indicates that you are taking only 280 mg of Magnesium Citrate. You need to at least double it. I believe the ratio for calcium:magnesium is 2:1. Low magnesium will also affect your ability to absorb vitamin D. Some people have found that it helps to take the D3 in the middle of the night away from everything else.
