I had a call today from a gal at Dr. Cirangle's office in San Francisco.  I contacted that office over a year, if not 2 years ago, either by phone, or on their website, wanting to know if they did RNY to DS revisions.

So, I was upfront with the lady who called me today, I said "I only want a revision of my RNY to a DS, nothing else."  I said this, as I cut her off, because she was saying that Dr. Cringle did RNY revisions.  I just jumped on in there and told her EXACTLY what I wanted.  She said that 'she would check on that for me'

HA HA.  Ya, right.

I also explained to her that I had a consult with Dr. Keshishian, and he was very good at doing RNY to DS revisions.

Any Input, Words of Wisdom (besides RUN!!!)?????

Cringle?  Do you mean Cirangle?

I think his program fee is something like $10K.

Diana, Yes, you are right.  I tried 4 times to go in and edite the title and body of the correct spelling, but it would not let me!!

This is the correct doc, sorry for the mistake, which OH would just not let me fix!!!  (Thanks for that catch, also)
Dr. Cirangle from San Francisco

Does he do RNY to DS revisions?  Just curious, since I got the call.  I have my doc all picked out, and Cirangle is not him.

I'll let the Californians speak definitively on that one, but I'm 99% sure the answer is no.

Well then, why don't you tell us what it IS, since you seem to know?

His fee may have changed (especially since Jossart quit the practice and he is now in competition with his former partner), but we have a member of our IRL support group (yes, despite paying megabux to LapSF for "support," she attends the PacLap meetings) who told us she paid $10K a few years ago, and was VERY VERY ANGRY at the lack of support that enormous, unreimbursable fee bought her, especially when she was having medical issues.

Regardless of whether and what she received in return, I'm quite certain that she said she paid $10K for her program fee.

Trusted RnY-to-DS revision doctors are few and far between, and I've never heard him mentioned in that group.

Here's a quote from a thread related to this topic:

"The top ones that always get mentioned are these;

1. Dr. Keshishian (CA)
2. Dr. Rabkin (CA)
3. Dr. Elariny (VA)
4. Dr. Stewart (TX)
5. Dr. Gagner (Canada) some have concerns about his practice.
6. Dr. Kemmeter (MI)"

I would stick with these folks, plus Dr. Greenbaum in New Jersey if he's doing revisions again (he stopped for a while, but he's very skilled and experienced at these).

So, I am glad I was 'susipicious'...... she wanted me to send down copies of my insurance cards, so she could verify my benefits.

UUUUUUMMMMMMMM, In the lat year if not 2, I have not solicited this doctor or that practice, and then, out of the blue, she calls me, and cannot even answer my VERY clear question.....

What a joke.

And, no, I never sent any information down there!!!!!  I have had Dr. Keshishian picked out as my surgeon for nearly 2 years.  Why in the world would I switch now?  To someone who is not even reputable for what I want -- a RNY to DS revision-----  Talk about "bait & don't switch"!!!!!

You or anyone else reading who gets a similar call from them could request to first have the contact info. of some happy RNY-to-DS revision patients to be references for Dr. C.  Maybe you would never hear back after she says she'll have to look into that.
