Julie, you are beautiful. And to look at you, no one would ever know you were 282 lbs.! You really look comfortable in your skin and like you belong there, if that makes sense!

Hi Des - yes - that does make sense. For the most part, now, at five years out, I am. I am accustomed to being small now, of moving easily through life. Most of the time, I think I look pretty darn acceptable for a fifty-year-old mother of three that's lost a ****load of weight. I still have my moments though. When I put my dress on, right before the wedding, I looked at myself in the mirror, and had to ask my husband if I really looked like the mirror showed. I could not believe that I was the person looking back at me. I thought that maybe the mirror was distorted. He came up to me later, at the wedding, after hearing others compliment me, and said, "See? Do you believe me now?" I also actively remind myself EVERY DAY of something that is so much better now that I'm thin. That keeps me humble and grateful.
