Biopsy Results = EXCELLENT NEWS!!
Sounds good - my dad was in a Stage I trial with a very poor outcome, both cancer control wise and side effect wise. Now, he's in a newly approved FDA trial, and is taking a chemo pill. His last CT scan showed improvement, after just four weeks, so we're keeping our fingers crossed.
I'm doing the same for you - it sounds like your prognosis is excellent.

Lisey, or do you prefer Lisa-
Will you contine losing weight during treatment? Is malabsorption going to get in the way of treatment, interfere with progress? Having cancer must be hard enough on the system let alone the DS factor coming into play. Well, I wish you a happy and healthy treatment regardless. Critters are swinging from the chandeliers, girl!

Thank you so much!! A lot of people lose weight during chemo, but it is an individual thing. My weight had been fairly stable (went up a few pounds after christmas), but I've since lost that & I'm exactly where I was weight-wise before Christmas where Aug 2010 - Dec 2010 was my lowest. I've been eating like a little piggy to stop losing weight (which is fun, I admit). I might or might not lose weight, who knows?
The malabsorption won't interfere with the progress b/c the treatment is given intravenously and our malabsorption only is from what we ingest orally.
ETA: I secretly prefer Lisey online, but Lisa is 100% okay. Lisey ("Leecee") was my dad's nickname for me when I was a kid.
