Quick question...I see carbsmart ice cream on here all the time. I looked it up and it contains sugar alcohols (sorbitol). Is this a YMMV thing? Just curious because I would sure love to have some ice cream when I'm post-op, but I've heard -itols are horrible for gas.

YMMV. They don't bother me at all and I love fudge bars.

You're right about the sorbitol. I guess since I eat it so late I've not noticed if I have any reaction. Normally I react pretty badly to too many sugar alcohols but not Splenda. Maybe since I don't eat that much it doesn't have that much affect. I dunno, but good to know for those that react to the least little bit. Thanks!

Once you're sure you don't have a lactose issue, you might want to try a little CarbSmart and see how you do. It's a great treat at the end of the day.

Hi Barb,

It bothered me early out. But as I get farther out I see that I am able to tolerate SAs a little more.  I don't remember how many SAs are in one CarbSmart serving but the amount you eat does play a part as well.

It will be a YMMV thing as so many things are.

Yep, got my carrots. You just can't sit around the conference table with the company VP and the client and munch on carrots. {sigh} It's a shame really because they don't have a problem eating jelly donuts at the conference table. Of course, carrots are much louder than donuts.

Hello everyone. Yesterday was my belated 6 month checkup, and my stall broke just in time. WOOT! I've never gotten a real goal weight from PacLap, but the PA said she thinks I've only got about 30 more pounds of fat to lose. Double Woot!

B - double protein coffee shake (11 carbs)
TasteKake Coffee Kakes (10 g. net carbs)
L - rented steak for about 10 minutes, then got sick. Heat + vites = bad.
S - couple of bites of dark chile cherry chocolate (6 g. carbs)
D - Trader Joe's Lemon Chicken salad, only eating half the lettuce. (7 g. carbs; 24 protein)
Cheese popcorn (12 net carbs)
Post workout - single serving of coffee protein shake
S - carbsmart bar &/or shake cake (???)

Totals around 55 net carbs, 150 protein if I eat all I'm planning.
Vites - all done except bedtime batch
Exercise - going to gym to do 35 minutes on treadmill. May do more depending on how I feel.
Fluids - need to drink at least a few more glasses of water tonight.

Ya'll stay cool!

I hope the workout went well along with another protein coffee. That should have brought your daily total up nicely. That last 30 pounds will take some due diligence. Rock on!

Hey Gina,

I weighed for the first time in a couple weeks today, and I'm still 170. My gw is 180.

Bites: DS maintanence

1 protein coffee
3 egg omellete with saute bell peppers, onions and shrooms
salmon
french fries
tuna salad
cherries
bomb minced beef. I'll put recipe below

Vites:
still have 1 dose left

exercites
burned 500 calories on eliptical. I need to do another 30 minutes to work those fries off:-)

beef recipe: I used minced beef and mixed in 1 egg, chopped cilantro, a little lemon juice and spices. I cooked this in olive oil and melted mozerrela on it at the end. I added fresh salsa and sour cream and guacomole and ate this with Kayla's eggplant recipewww.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/4394188/Cravin-Taters-Try-some -eggplant-Step-by-step+photos/ . I was in the mood for nachos, so I made this instead and it worked out great.

That recipe sounds great. I'd like to pass that one along to my son. He's working out and trying to go low carb as well. Congrats on hitting your goal. Welcome to maintenance!
