Wow, Protein Rampage = More Weight Loss!
At a year out my DS still amazes me...
My weight loss has slowed (as could be expected at one year out and close to goal) and with this last stall I was worried that the losing gone forever but then a proverbial side of beef hit me in the face. This has happened periodically since surgery but not in a while.
I get in my nice little 80-100 grams of protein each day, sometimes more, almost never less. Then one morning BAM it hits me. I drink my little 50g Coffee but then I start eying my little Corgis wondering how much protein I can get out of them. :) I was craving protein in epic portions.
For the last 3 days, right after my coffee, I've made myself a 4 egg omelet in butter with 3 slices of cheese, topped with a scoop of sour cream, salsa and jalapenos. Every bit of it consumed within 15-20 minutes like a starving beggar with a huge belly.
The rest of the day I eat fairly normal meals, not a lot of carbs, but not completely avoiding them either.
I also found myself doing something I never do... grazing. right now I'm hooked on boiled peanuts, peanut M&Ms and Bugles corn chips with sour cream.
I don't suggest anyone graze per se, but do listen to your body. If it wants to eat, feed it! Especially protein!
I've lost almost 3 pounds in 3 days as a result!

I grazed throughout my weight loss. Whenever my loss would slow down Gina would advise me to up the shakes. Every time I upped the protein the weight loss started again. So I'm a believer.
I need way more than 100 grams of protein a day. I think 100 is a minimum number and that we should strive for more.

I have gained and lost the same 5 lbs for the last 2 months, it's not a stall so to speak but THIS SUCKS! I was getting well over 150g of protein a day but then family came to town and I couldn't get all my shakes in. I have always gotten in over 100g a day, maybe as I boost back up a litte I will start to lose again too!
Thanks for the inspiration Hannah!
