 If you've been approved by your insurance company ( or have the money to pay)   it's easy to switch surgeons.  Do not feel like you have to go with him because that is who you have been working with up to this point.  

If you decide to walk (I agree that you should run) just tell them you've decided not not use their services and need copies of all your records (there may be a charge) or if you find a new, vetted revision surgeon, their office can call on your behalf and request all of your charts.  I did this and it was not a big deal, apparently it happens often with surgeons. :)
