Need WLS statistics, please!

After much consideration, I have decided that DS is the best WLS option for me. I will be paying for this surgery myself, and want to get the best long term bang for my buck. Here is the problem, my parents are loaning me the cash, and want me to have Lap-Band surgery.
I have several friends who have had WLS, and the DS seems to be the way to go. Could someone please help me with statstics on the different WLS?

Thanks in advance,

Kristen

Follow the links in my sig to comparisons of the four major surgeries.  It tells about the % of weight loss with each.

Also go to www.dsfacts.com and check out the "facts" over there.

And you might look up revision rates too... and what does everyone revise too????  The DS...

I don't know about statistics but I'm having a revision from the lap band to the DS in a few weeks.  Good luck to you.

I have the lap band, I got it 3 years ago. I have only lost 55lbs. I have not lost any weight or gained any weight since the losing of the 55lbs.. I am now thinking about getting the DS done... The lap band works for some people, but just didnt work for me... I wish you luck with your decision.

Lap band didn't work for me either.  10 pounds in 3 years.  I consider that a complete failure and an unnecessary surgery.

If money is the issue, and you are willing to travel to get surgery with one of the best DS surgeons in the US for an amazing price VERY SOON (within the next 2 months or so) then I suggest you send an email to [email protected] with your contact information and confirmation that you meet the NIH guidelines for WLS.  This is a very special, short term offer, for reasons I can explain briefly if you send me a PM.  Others here can vouch for me, and I can vouch for the surgeon.

And under NO CIR****TANCES should you have a lapband!!

Money is not an issue, but educating my support group is.
