So do I, but if you're trying to really limit carb intake, they are very carby choices. 1/2 c. of peas or corn = more than a slice of bread.

Ok, thanks for that, I love corn, hate peas, lol.

By all means, keep on learning and reading.

But don't do too much stocking up till you know your docs postop eating plan.  And keep in mind, some of the things you think are palatable now might not be after surgery.  Buy some samples and don't invest in the huge mondo package of anything till you KNOW it's going to work for you.

Thank you for your wise advise and I will take heed.

We have a costco in Montreal and in Ottawa.  I will 1st order just samples from the Vitalady and then make up my mind which ones I want (after the surgery that is) I will buy them.

Right now, I have about 10 protein bullets so I'm not desperate at this stage. I had the sleeve, so I already have a heads up, but then again this is the DS, so I have to be careful and do what needs to be done.

I will be asking Gagner secretary if she could send me the list so I can get a few things or should I say my DH can after the op while I'm re-couping in Montreal hotel room.

Gagner wants me to stay close by for 7 days after I have been released from the hospital.

Again, thank you for you very informative advice.

Hugs,
Nancy

Thanks hon, your so sweet.

As for the orders, my son has a po box in the states and he goes down at least once a week, so I'm hoping that won't be a problem if we have to get stuff from down there.

I've heard nothing but nice things about Vitalady, so I'm hoping to get my vitamins from her.

As for protein powder, I remember how vial they were from the sleeve and really don't want to go that way, but if I have to I have to, heck I think I even have some left from before but don't know if it is still good, lol, but your idea about asking the Ontario board is a good one thank you, I will check it out.

I also have the protein bullets I got a few months back and there good til 2012, so those should be ok to take as well, I think 30 grams of proten per bullet, but there very sweet tasting but doable.

Again thanks for all the info.

Hugs,
Nancy

Could your son shop for supplements for you when he goes to get the mail? Is his PO box located in a community with GNC, Vitamin Shoppe or similar stores? Or maybe you have those options where you are...?

I have found two RTD protein supplements that are quite drinkable, Isopure smoothies and a clear beverage in a can called XAPP by Designer Whey. RTDs are more expensive per serving than powders, but if it helps get you over the hump to eating your protein, that will be money well invested.

I don't think there is much there, but I can go and check I guess, it is in Massena, NY.

I agree and I hope I can find an RTD.

Thanks and hugs,
Nancy

What they said...plus this is a great post from Jenna on what a eating with a DS is like:

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/4193573/Eating-with-a -DS-A-Day-in-the-Life-pics/

Of course as a new post op you won't be eating like this, but rest assured you'll eventually get to where you'll be able to increase your intake.
