Watching DS video

So I am watching them do an actual DS on YouTube and I was just wondering when I saw that nifty thing that stapled both ends of the cut sections.... what happens to the staples? Do they stay in you forever? i never thought to ask this question the last time I had to have a major surgery but now I am curious..

That's kind of cool in a weird sort of way and wouldn't it be a hoot trying to explain why I can't remove my metal objects LOL

Well, if they did set off metal detectors, it would probably lead to being molested by TSA agents trying to make sure one isn't trying to smuggle firearms in akward places....
