I was approved by my surgeon, to get a resleeve a little over six months ago, just finished my six months dietician appointments for insurance. I talked to Dr. Inman's office manager Colleen (love her) and she is getting all the paperwork together to submit to insurance. I am keeping my fingers crossed and everything else I can!!!  Super nervous and super excited!!!

I'm glad things are going the way you want!

Would you mind sharing  more details?  Why you want to be resleeved?  (I'm assuming regain?)  How far out are you from your original DS?  How much can you eat now?  Do you think it's a volume issue?  Do you eat high protein and low carb now?  What did you need to do and what criteria did you have to meet to be approved?  How small will they make your new sleeve?

I'm just curious as I haven't seen much of this before and like to be informed.

Thanks!

I am interested in knowing what prompted you to pursue a resleeve. Was your original too large, or did it somehow stretch? I can eat so much more now, but I still keep the weight off. I know I must ammend my habits now that I am ending my DS "honeymoon".  I wonder how often this is the way one needs to go to keep the weight off.

I just read your response to someone else in another thread and see that you lost a lot (180 pounds), but still have quite a ways to go (130 pounds).

Will Dr. Inman look at your common channel and considering shortening it any while doing the resleeve?  I hear that it can sometimes "grow" a little after a couple of years.

I am not sure if Dr. Inman is going to shorten my channel length or not...I know for sure the resleeve. I can eat WAY too much for being a DS patient. I could probably down 4 or 5 pieces of pizza if I let myself!! It's nutso! I have regained some. Bottomed out at 242, but the past year have bounced between 250 and 270, currently I am 252. I have low carbed, high proteined, no sugared, full barr'd, you name it, I've tried it lol!!!  I have an appt with Dr. Inman coming up so we can disucss the final logistics of the surgery. Also waiting on insurance approval. If I have to appeal I have a few tricks up my sleeves, bad knees and a left ventrical of heart is dilated...docs said both will go away with the loss of the rest of my weight...so I have some things to support it:0)

I'm having a resleeve in a little while also.  I finished my 6 mo diet in Feb...now I'm waiting on the doc.

Good luck...I got stuck at 214 and I'm only 5'2"...the doc said he doesn't know what kind of stomach I have and he can make it smaller.  We aren't going to do anything to the cc...don't need to do that.

Best of luck and keep me posted.
