Great post and great information on here!  I like the thumb drive or even a cd kept in the car is a great idea. thought too that maybe your significant other should have a little thumb drive on their key chain as well.

I use the RoadID System - came about from going out running and wanting to be sure I had some form of ID on me while out there for hours.  ... I wear a bracelet that has a 8 digit serial number and 5 digit pin ON THE BACK ....  you can get whatever you want on the front .... I have my name ... emerg contact ... phone number ... and for medical information see back of this tag.

These are my red ones ... but I also have one in Black that I wear ....

The instructions tell the first responder to either go to the website or call for the record to be read to them over the phone:

They log in and see this ... or can call and each section is read to them by a computer ...

Additional Information Listen Now

The BPD/DS procedure includes a partial gastrectomy, which reduces the stomach along the greater curvature, effectively restricting its capacity while maintaining its normal functionality.

Unlike the unmodified BPD and RNY, which both employ a gastric “pouch" and bypass the pyloric valve, the DS procedure keeps the pyloric valve intact. This eliminates the possibility of dumping syndrome, marginal ulcers, stoma closures and blockages, all of which can occur after other gastric bypass procedures.

In addition, unlike the unmodified BPD and RNY procedures, the DS procedure keeps a portion of the duodenum in the food stream. The preservation of the pylorus/duodenum pathway means that food is digested normally (to an optimally absorbable consistency) in the stomach before being excreted by the pylorus into the small intestine. As a result, the DS procedure enables more-normal absorption of many nutrients (including protein, calcium, iron and vitamin B12) than is seen after other gastric bypass procedures.

The malabsorptive component of the BPD/DS procedure rearranges the small intestine to separate the flow of food from the flow of bile and pancreatic juices. This inhibits the absorption of calories and some nutrients. Further down the digestive tract, these divided intestinal paths are rejoined; food and digestive juices begin to mix, and limited fat absorption occurs in the common tract as the food continues on its path toward the large intestine.

Supplements I take DAILY due to this surgery  Iron Poly 150mg, Iron Carbonyl 150mg, Copper 2mg, Vitamin C 3000mg, Dry Vitamin A 125,000IU, B12 1000mcg/1mg, B Complex  65mg, Dry Vitamin E 1200IU, Calcium Citrate 1890mg, Multi Vitamin 2 doses, Zinc 100mg, Dry Vitamin D-3 50,000IU, Mag Citrate 140mg, Mag Oxide 800mg, Probiotic, Glucosamine Chondroitin 2x

Thanks for sharing the link Tom!! I am definitely ordering two sets. I'm going to attach one to my purse, wear one, give one to my daughter and one to my husband.  They are both in my ICE contact list so they should have these for me as well.

Pink! Yay! Or should I go blue? Decisions...decisions...

Oh yeah, for those who are interested the cost- the Elite is $29.99 and one year free of the Emergency Response System. After that first year, you pay $9.99 a year to continue the ERS. It's accessible via internet or phone. Also has a good online reliability rating with the Better Business Bureau. Sounds like a win-win!

I got my husband (he is a runner) one of these for Christmas a few years back but he never wears it. I never thought about using RoadID as just a medical alert.
