Step by step directions on how to make the best protein shake EVER!! (Pics included)

I have been an avid protein shake drinker since having my DS, only having slacked off for one 6-8 month period where my body managed to go into protein malnutrition.  Vowing to never go through that EVER again, I have been drinking 4-6 shakes every day since discovering that my protein was low.  I have tried just about every protein out there, and believe to this day that Champion Nutrition (Pure Whey Stack) makes the best, easiest to mix, protein powder on the market.  It's low in carbs in addition to it's very decent taste.  I like the strawberry and banana scream flavors, but the chocolate is BY FAR the best one to me.  I have put together a thousand different ways to get the protein down, but the following is by far the best I've come up with.

I wanted to share with you my process for making my favorite recipe with my Champion Nutrition chocolate protein powder.  When done, I feel this rivals Starbuck's iced caramel frappucino.  I no longer go to Starbuck's for their fraps, now I just go there to buy the syrup!  Believe me, $7.95 per week on syrup is an incredible savings over what I used spend at Starbucks!!

These are the ingredients I use:

*Decaf coffee brewed (Can be used hot or cold)  Regular coffee can be used of course.
(I brew a pot a day, and just keep it in a large cup in my fridge or on the countertop)
*Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Stack in the chocolate flavor  (Best price at Allstarhealth.com)
*Starbucks sugar free caramel ($7.95 for 32 oz, purchased from Starbucks, of course)
*Stevia sweetener packets (or any sugar substitute) (TrueVia is my fave, I get this from Costco)
*Heavy whipping cream (Best price is at Costco, half gallon for less than $6)
*Large blender bottle, the 28 oz size (Best price @ Luckyvitamin.com)

I don't have any exacts, so I've put this into pictures to make it easier to duplicate.

All of the ingredients I use.

Start by filling a Blender Bottle full with ice

Next fill your shaker about 3/4 full of coffee  (I use the verticle stripes along the side to measure)

Next, add desired amount of heavy whipping cream

Now add two pumps of sugar free caramel syrup

Next add two packets of favorite sugar substitute

Now add 1.5 scoops of Champion Nutrition Chocolate protein powder (2 scoops if you like it more chocolate flavored)

Now just put on the lid to the shaker and shake until smooth

No joke guys, if you're having trouble drinking protein, this is the BEST tasting recipe I've come up with yet.  I CRAVE my protein shakes and can't wait until it's time for the next!!!!

Thank you , Lori!  The closest Starbucks to me is an hour away.  Do you suppose the Torani SF syrups would be the same thing and result in the same taste?  I'm totally having trouble getting my shakes down right now for some reason, so any suggestions like this, I'm totally down for trying!

The Torani syrups are okay, but have a more "artificial" flavor in my opinion.  Starbucks is my syrup of choice, but certainly not the ONLY way to make them.  You may even try different protein powders, but these are my favorite ingredients, and certainly not the only way to make them.  Play around with the recipe, you may find you like yours a different way.

Hi Lori

Thanks for the great post. Now my question for you is do you have an amazing way to make a protein drink that is AWESOME but does not have coffee?  I have never liked coffee or tea, just can not bring myself to drink it.

My FAV starbucks drink is the Strawberry blended lemonade... do you think I could mimic this?

Michelle-

Syntrax Nectars has a Roadside Lemonade flavor, as well as Strawberry Kiwi.  Not sure about that one, I've never tried it, but mixing the two could approximate your Starbucks drink.

Here's the link to their website:

I just made this... Ummm, it's good. I didn't have the caramel, so I used Torani SF vanilla and splenda. Gave it a mocha taste I like. Next time, I'm gonna make a hot version. Thanks Lori !!!

I envy your ability to use sf syrups. Anyone know of any that are made w/o sugar alcohols?
