Hang in there Desertdoll! Despite everything that we may research, learn, or be told prior to surgery, I'm slowly learning that it's a VERY unique and individual ride for each of us. I'm sorry about your complications and I certainly hope and pray that they will resolve and get better. I'm approximately 6 weeks out and also have very mixed feelings at this point, although when I look beneath the surface I feel as though I did the right thing. Your weight loss is absolutely awesome so try to take comfort in that for now and anticipate that things will get better. Continued success and all the best to you.

I wish I had words of wisdom but since I am just a pre op gal I dont. Anyhow I hope things get better for you and the worst is behind. Congrats on your weight loss!

Hopefully the worst is behind you.  I really starting feeling more like myself after the 2 month mark.  It really is a challenge learning what our new insides need and like.

Your unsupportive family members will be singing a different tune once you get in the groove of the DS life.  So keep in touch here on OH, there are a lot of very good people that will encourage and support you.  (They'll also kick you in the butt if you need it, but for the most part they are an awesome group.)

Hang  in there! Even without complications, your body has gond through a major metabolic change and the adjustment period can be challenging. Just keep working on your protein and vitamins and supplements and remember that time is on your side.

And as to the nay-sayers,  ignore them. As you continue to lose weight and regain your energy, they will become strangely quiet.

I am a month pre-op and really the only thing  feel nervous about is the first few weeks and months and I know I will get the buyer's remorse like most and struggle with the water & supplements as I dont like taking either but know I must. And then if I do get in trouble that will scare me too but  I am sure but I will remember all you guys have said & hang on too. I have read it so many times here - just keep going as no one regrets geting it done (after awhile) - they only regret they didnt do it sooner. Sounds like you are over the worst now. You sound pretty lucky to me!
