Body Odor After DS ??

Thanks for pointing this one out for me, Jenna! Good to know that good information will go wasted on this one.

Note to pre-ops. When Jenna Lynn tells you you're being a dufus, you really are being a dufus. Nothing like getting your panties in a bunch over ONE comment in a thread with at least 10 common-sense replies. Nevermind that the "insultedness" wasn't even directed at Lyss at all, but at "those out there" who feel that all we DSers do is stink it up.

I don't mean to be rude and I apologize for generalizing!  I was taken very off guard because that was the FIRST post I had ever posted and I felt attacked by a bunch of people on there.  Here I was feeling like this was the place where I could ask about my concerns and my fears and I was attacked by a few.  That was not a fun feeling for me!  I appreciate you taking the time to answer my previous question honestly.  I never ment it to be offensive and I don't think she does either.  I'm sorry to those who were offended by my question and if this question keeps coming up.  I am very worried about this surgery and want to prepare myself for any and all situations that could come from having it done and I figured that this would be the place to do it.

This gist I get from this as I didn't see your first post nor do I have time to look through it.

You said it was your first post to the board. We get alot of trolls and **** stirrers that come here and start threads here like that. So alot of the vets to the board get their radars up (I do myself, I just leave the snarky stuff to thoes who are way better at it). So some people will be very forward with info like Jenna and many others. Some may seem snarky, but most have reason to believe a possible troll. Especially if you immediately get defensive or snarky nasty back.

But don't let that hold you back from asking questions. You will find we are a great bunch but we have had quite a few trolls and such lately. Trying to spread lies and everything else on this same topic and similar BS DS supposed issues.

But you will have to learn to have panties of steel or go commando if you tend to get your knickers in a twist. As lot of the longer term DS vets are blunt. Such as if you noticed my response and as you seen I excluded the OP in my slaying as they were asking about something told to them. We don't blow rainbows, butterflies and puppies up peoples asses, that's what the Main Board is for, LOL.

Please make a few little notes to yourself to help out the next time you think this situation occurs:

1. Black and white words on a screen have no emotion. What I read into them is solely MY interpretation and may not be the true meaning behind them. Emoticons do help, but not always.

2. One person on a thread making a statement that I interpret as attacking me does not mean that a "bunch of people" attacked me. One equals 1, not more than one.

3. This is the big, bad Internetz. There are many people out there. I am only me. I get the experience I carve out for myself from the big, bad Internetz and it can be as good or as bad as I think it can be.

Perhaps that will help? Worrying gets you nowhere but into a death spiral. Facts get you where you want to go and be.

So, yeah..it's brilliant of you to remind all the people who might be able to help you out that you entered the room as a demanding twit and haven't changed much. 

My mother has a nose like a bloodhound. Seriously, the woman can smell a gnat fart in a hurricane, so I rely on her to tell me if I smell bad. (My sense of smell---well, it stinks. *grin*)
So far, the only time she's commented on my smell was when I'd been working in the yard all day, and even *I* can smell me then, LOL!

Body odor related to the DS?  No.  Body odor related to obesity?  I've been around a lot of obese people who do smell, but it's because *some* of them do not have good hygiene, and yes, the fat rolls themselves can cause problems with odor if one does not clean well.
