Hello Everyone! - Still Miserable

I would start by sending an email to some of the top gun DS surgeons. Someone will help you! Make sure you have copies of all you medical records. This is where YOU have to be proactive. I can think of a number of things that could be wrong but I'm not a medical professional so I'll keep my thoughts to myself.

Prayers

Dustin, I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a difficult time. I don't have anything else to offer other than what was already said. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Dustin, I am so sorry to hear all of this.

As far as the pain, even if your gallbladder is gone, I believe upper right quadrant pain typically points to liver & related issues. You've lost a tremendous amount of weight in a short time and that is very hard on your liver. It can take up to 9 months for your liver function to settle down. Get your liver function tested via bloodwork.

Irritated stomach--are you on an acid reducer? Nexium, etc? That may not be enough. If things still are coming back up on a regular basis after everything you've tried, you need to be scoped, or at least have a contrast swallow done, to look for strictures and the like. Have you had any of that?

I understand that the closest DS surgeon might be far away and not covered by your insurance, but this is getting to be more important than distance and money.

Dustin,
I have nothing to add, except to say how sorry I am this has happened to you. I'm glad you reached out--sounds like you got some very good advice here and are also working on a good solution yourself. I'll be saying prayers/swinging chickens for you, dude.

Negative is fine - it's the reality sometimes, unfortunately.   Sounds like your surgeon did you no favors.  It's truly one of the reasons we are so vocal about making well educated surgeon choices...but now you have what you have and can only  move forward and get good help.

By all means - get yourself to a quality surgeon, even if by phone.  Life should be better than this.

Sending you prayers and healing vibes.

Dustin,

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. You've been through hell and then some. I hope you're able to get in with Dr. K and your GI friend and get this resolved. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. Hang in there

Great news....I hope

being scoped on Tuesday and see the liver specialist on Thursday....so now I just have to suffer for another week or so.  My live enzymes have been LOW up until about 2 weeks ago when I had the kidney stones.  Maybe I have some sludge in my biliary tree or the asshole tickled my bile duct when he scooped out my gall bladder.  Who knows.  I do know that I am workin gon a solution once and for all.  and I hope I get answers soon enough

Thanks everyone for your support.

I sure hope he can find answer for you ! If not please figure out a way to get to a DS vetted doc. I know money and all is tight and the kids and school and all. But that is short term problems that can be fixed once your healthy. If this specialist can't fix you then you need to bit the bullet somehow and fix it where that might be.
