Poor baby...
I know nothing of this condition except that it seems to have something to do with leaving the MO (or even more the SMO) in a given position for an extended period of time and other surgery-related stuff.
That's why I am NOT one of the voices in the wilderness screaming that the the DS has to be done in one step. I'd rather have two three-hour procedures than one six-hour go at it.
BUT, apparently, it is not DS-related, it is surgery-related.

I know that some people--like Kirmy--have surgical procdures that last half a day. That just scares the **** out of me. I think that once we hit two hours, it's time to think about closing!
Just get better...and I'm sorry you had to be so special.
Leslie!
I'm so happy to see your cute face on the boards this morning!!! I have been so worried about you! I was gone for a week, and tried to log on remotely, but didn't get to much. So....you've been heavy on my mind.
I'm sorry to hear about the "crushing". It sounds awful! I'm glad you are doing better, and my thoughts and prayers will be with you while you are recovering.
Thanks for taking the time to post. I thought about you most of the night last night after I read one of Rena's posts. What a great angel!!!
Post again when you have time. It is heartwarming to see you here!

So glad to see you post. I was very worried about you. I read about your condition as a possible complication, so I was somewhat aware of it. My understanding is that it's not limited to a rare complication of the DS, but of all longer surgeries, especially if the patient is in a set position for an extended period - including some orthopedic surgeries.
I'm sorry that this happened to you, I'm glad you seem to be on the right path and hoping for your full and speedy recovery.

I was so scared when I heard things were not going well and it freaked me out a bit when I heard what exactly was happening. I was in the hospital with my own complications, and my mind kept going back to the fear that you may not be able to walk again.
I'm so glad that the worst is behind you, stay strong. I am confident you will do great
