So I started on pureed foods this week. I'm doing fine as far as eating- No vomiting, getting in all my fluids and about 60-80 g protein. The only problem is that I haven't really been poo for 3 days. I hate putting more chemicals in my body but I should I take something? Should I go back to a liquid diet? Any advice?

Try a stool softener?

Your gut may still be "sleepy" from anesthesia.  Try taking some milk of magnesia.

What pureed foods are you eating? Is it possible to add in some fat? Maybe some gravy or butter? Lots of mayo mixed in with tuna or chicken or egg salad?

Have you pooed since surgery?  It took me 5 days after surgery to poo.  (sleepy intestines!)  I agree with adding some fat in your diet... mayo works good for me!  Hope you get some relief soon.

Add FAT. Drink a jigger of olive oil, or stir some butter into something warm and pureed. Repeat until you get a livable poop.

I was having the same problem. My doc nurse told me to take a stool softner. It did the trick.

but I also ate some mayo in tuna so maybe both helped.

Good luck

I'm on the camp to add more butter.

You're always in the camp to add more butter. I think you get a commission off of it! That and ricotta.

Have I told you how good ricotta is hot with butter melted all in it?
Makes me want to rub it all over my pink parts and call hubby. Better yet, I can rub it on HIS pink parts
