Personally, I'd rather use my new body to do activities that I'd never dreamed possible while on vacation, maybe scuba dive, jet ski, banana boats,etc...
Perhaps you may be limited by your experience with obese vacations and not opening up to the possibilites.
Think outside your box. Make a pros and cons list. Maybe you really don't have that many great reasons to get this done and the cons really outweigh what you put a priority on. If so, you are wise to not get a DS, because things that really should be important like living longer, being compliant, etc would be a more realistic approach to what I would imagine you should be considering before major WLS, no matter what the type.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but I don't think you understood mine. The things you just mentioned, I do already; that is why I wanted to know about the bathroom issues, unless they have since invented a portable toilet that you can just take with you, in which case I guess that one would not have to worry about those issues!

Hi Blondie 243...
I am waiting to get my surgery date...after having my insurance ok it. I am a patient of Dr. Inman's as well. You may want to consider meeting with the Indy DSr's...I believe it's the 2nd tuesday evening of the month. They're a great bunch...and very willing to answer your questions. Check on Lori Black's profile.... or look up the Support group meetings for Indy...
I've been able to make it to one of the dinner get-togethers... It really helped to meet with them...and learn first-hand....
Good Luck....

Okay, thank you. I am glad that you are one of the very few on here that understood that it was not about the pina coloda, for crying out loud!  It was the fact that I was trying to get more info on the bathroom issue, and I was using this as more of an example of things that I like to do that may not have bathroom facilities. I was wondering what one might do in this situation.  Like I said I only have one pina coloda, as I have my two children with me as well. Going snorkeling is something that we have done together as a family. It is very important to my children, and they love it! There are just certain things that could put me into a compromising situation, and I wanted to know what others had to say. I went to the DS. support group tuesday, and there was only two people there, including me. We were both pre-op and it was not very helpful. I did meet someone online though who answered a lot of my questions.

i don't crap myself.  i don't know any dsers that do (and i know several).  none of us live on the toilet or have a persistent stench.  go meet some irl, and talk to them, see how they eat, if they smell, etc.

NOT ABOUT PINA COLODAS. DAMN!!!  What I wanted to know is about batroom issues. They were sending the letter to my insurance company today  for approval, however, it would have been to approve the DS. I just wanted some advice about he whole stinking, pooing, farting situation. I am not willling to go around smelling like charlie browns pig pin. It may not bother some people, however it does bother me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Anyway, I needed to make a decision today and I have. I chose neither the rny or the switch, and I am going to lose weight on my own! I think that is the best way for me. Thank You!

Well, that is JUST PERFECT.
Implying that those of us who populate this board do smell like "charlie browns pig pin", whatever that is.
Very classy, indeed.

Yup.  I think eating less and exercising will be the ticket for you.
Happy trails.

If you like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain.
If you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain.

There ya go! "Half a brain" sounds about right.
