3 months after my sons surgery his doctor got up and moved to the other side of town. One reason we really leaned on having this doctor is for how convenant it was for follow up. But Yes we have been in contact with his doctor when this all started falling to pieces. Docs words when he looked and him. So tell me what is going on? Was it not obvious by looking at him so very disappointed with reaction! Leaving his office left us lost!

Moved to the other side of TOWN????  Not the next state or across the country and you can't follow through on getting labs drawn and such??

Still you have not answered the question about his vitamin and supplement and protein plan so I really have to wonder if you are being on the up and up here.

Please answer the questions posed about his diet, his nutritional status, vitamin and supplent regime.

And malabsorption IS the point of this surgery, but it does not have to mean malnutrition.

FYI, later in this thread, she says his doc was Dr. Schlesinger in Arizona.

You don't "suffer" from malsbsoprtion--it's a designed part of the DS that helps you lose and maintain weight.

Are you sure he's losing muscle? Has he had bloodwork done to determine his protein levels?

Are you sure he's suffering from anything? What weight did he start at and what weight is he at now?

 Well I didn't have 300lbs to lose. But I've lost 186 in a year and a month.

I'll probably slow down a bit here and stop soon enough. But I'd say it's probably pretty doable with the DS.

Also! John H. has lost close to 300lbs in a little over a year as well I'm pretty sure.

I have lost close to 300 pounds in about 15 months but with that being said - Dr. Houston did my surgery and I know I have a 100 common channel and he used a 34 fr bougie for my stomach.    I am no longer loosing but I could stand to add some muscle mass so I am now drinking 3 protien shakes a day and I am going to start working out to build some of it back.    I believe Nicole asked Joyce to chime in as she had Dr. S and Dr. K had to go back in and fix everything up.

Yeah I ended up posting this, regarding you, way before it was revealed that she was not simply asking if results were typical but rather her son had serious medical issues.

That's a fabulous success!

The truth is there aren't too many people around here that needed to lose more than 300 pounds.
