I basically follow that schedule, but just this week changed it so I do not take copper at the same time as iron.  A knowledgeable OH regular made a post about this,  which I verified with some online research, the body needs to have sufficient copper levels to process the iron, but should not be taken at the same time.   The disadvantage of taking the iron and copper at the same time is that both iron and copper are absorbed by the same villi in the intestines.   So by taking them together, you reduce the absorbtion of both iron and copper.

I have a vit/min schedule - and think you will work up to it - but haven't heard of a "beginners list". :-)

I can email it to you - send me a PM.

IRON is to be taken with Vitamin C, together but separated for at least 1 hour from caffeine, dairy, egg, whole grain, other vitamins, and medications.

Note 2

B Complex is to be a B Complex 50 or higher.

Note 3

Regarding Vitalady Tender B Complex 50: Some customers have mentioned a tingling, rashy sensation or redness in their extremities and face.  This is a common reaction to the niacin (niacin flush) which may be present for a short time. While doses as small as 75mg don’t usually cause any reaction, some people are more sensitive. The sensation is short lived and harmless.

Note 4

Multi-Vitamin/Mineral composition should be similar to Centrum®.

Note 5

We suggest starting with 1000mcg K-1, please check with your doctor if you taking any blood thinners or have any risks associated with Vitamin K .

*** REGARDING PROTEIN ***

This list suggests vitamin and mineral supplementation with a schedule. In addition we suggest that protein needs to be supplemented as well. Since many people struggle to meet their protein needs, the following is our suggestion on how you might address it. We suggest the use of Whey Protein powdered drinks as the best, most complete and highest bio-available protein supplement source available.

Using protein supplements daily may help with volume control, appetite and craving control, along with meeting your daily protein requirements.

Patients choosing this plan should drink 30 grams of protein four to five (4 - 5) times a day for a total of 120 - 150 grams.

Yup, that is EXACTLY what I thought.   I also thought it was just big time overkill, that really was only going to benefit the person selling vitamins.  After spending a few months in OH, I realized that people who were not following a schedule similar to this, were having problems (some major problems) with their labs.  The other thing I realized is that it is much harder to raise your levels than to keep them in a healthy range.    Most people keep a spreadsheet of their labs so they can track trends in the lab work.  In the real world, Doctors only become concerned when your labs drop outside of the "normal" range.  I really want my labs to be at the upper range of normal, and I want to adjust my vits if I see a lab test trending down.

After my 3 month labs I added Niacin and Folic Acid to my daily schedule, and stopped taking Costco Calcium because my B6 was too high.  Costco Calcium includes B6 and when you are taking 8 pills a day, it does have an impact on your B6 levels.  I now buy BJ's Calcium Citrate.

In reality, it is not a big deal.   Once a week I fill up my pill boxes and use my ipod alarm or cell phone alarm to remind me to take them.   I also use a separate container that holds all the vits for the time of day, so I don't even have to look at the spreadsheet.  I just take one bag and fill up one container with all of the vits in that container.

I use 2 of these pill boxes to make sure I don't miss a dose.

Do yall keep a spreadsheet of what you buy where and when?  I have been starring at Vitalady site and hyperventilating.  I am SO overwhelmed just looking at this I don't know where to start or to even buy it. Is there a button I can click and just buy all that crap listed???  Will the surgeon send me home with a bag of good and just say take this? Im scared to death Im gonna accidentally kill myself before I can buy new clothes.
