Colonoscopy after having the DS ?? Please give input.
The switcheroo goes on about 100cm upstream of your colon...nowhere the camera goes.
The only way it will come into play is probably during prep. I had a little bit of difficulty "cleaning out" and I have heard other DSers have had similar problems. I had eaten very lightly for several days leading up to the exam, low fiber diet for about 4-5 days, did clear liquids for 24 hours, 2 or 3 dulcolax laxatives, the entire gallon of electrolyte prep (nulytely), and 2 whole bottles of magnesium citrate, and THEN an enema the morning of the exam. I still had sediment.
'Course...the reason I had the colonoscopy was for slow, sluggish, lazy colon, and that definitely could have contributed. You could have no problems at all.
My GI was, however, able to successfully see what he needed to see during the exam with no problems.
Don't fret. I'd just make sure you follow your prep instructions perfectly to get the best results from the clean-out.

I agree with what Kayla and the others are saying...I had trouble with the cleaning out, even though I did what I was supposed to, and it appeared all was going well the night before the procedure.
I woke up thinking it was all over, then the nurse came in and said the doctor couldn't finish because there was "too much left up in there." They were able to get me an appointment for a barium enema at the hospital down the street from the surgery center, only it was three hours later so I still couldn't eat.
No problem, my sister-in-law and I went to the mall - got the test done and results came in a few days later. All was good.
I am sure you're going to be fine. Good luck.
