So my Ferritin dropped down to 1/2 of what it was after the NUT told me to eliminate the C when I take the Iron. That explaines the slight anemia. Vitamin C went back in today.

I've doubled my D from 50K/day to 100K/day to try and increase it a bit.

I've also upped the B12 a bit to get it up a bit as well.

Anyone see anyting else that needs a bit of work??

Not bad for a 47 year old male 6 months out.

Thanks in advance!

Rare is the NUT who has a clue what works for us.

Definitely WAY increase the D, add B12 and folic acid, perhaps a B complex too.

Your protein isn't great. How much are you eating?

I already take one B complex...should I take 2??

My protein is usually 110 and above. Usually closer to 130 or 140.

What size B complex?

I'd nonetheless absolutely add B12 and folic acid.

I'll go back to the 5K B-12 tabs. NUT made me cut that as well :)

I am on the Vitalady regimin...whatever Vitalady sells for B Complex is what I'm taking.

Why does he need more folic acid.  It is 24, it doesn't need to be higher than that.

My doc has kittens when my folic acid drops under 30.

I think I'd want more B-1 too, but know very little about how to go about supplementing that.

I developed B1 deficiency at 3 months.  I was put on 100mg 3 times daily and have had normal levels since.  I still take that dose to keep my levels stable.  I don't take B complex as they want me to take on the B's I need.  I give myself B12 injections - 2 times per week.

B1, cheap, sold everywhere.

why would it deplete if a person is already taking 2 multi, B plex?

vomiting
alcohol

are my first thoughts, but there are rx meds that can block it.

I suggest B1 AND b plex for restrictives and RNY--I kinda expect a bit more vomiting during the learning curve. My own opinion, of course.

There was a study at the conf one year... lack of B1 causes vomiting, vomiting loss of B1...... they stopped the cycle with B1 SHOT, poof, vomiting stopped, B1 restored itself and stayed restored.

tidbits. i do love tidbits

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

I think you're addressing what I saw. What about the A? How much A are you taking now? I don't see K but it's not unusual for docs not to request it.

It's good to see you around here again.
