The worst part of my EGD was the facility that did it was not in my plan :(  Had to pay a high co-pay :(

Other than that it was a great 30 minute nap.

My wife did my avatar.

She's constantly reminding me what an a$$hole I am :)

Thanks for your comments guys, I feel better; at least I am not alone in going through this!  I guess I got nervous reading they will help me swallow a flexible tube (makes it sound as though I am concious for this part).

I am sure all will be fine!
Blessings,
Mindi

Oh, Don't worry at all! I had two endoscopies and they went great. My DS surgeon made both of them. In the first one a stomach ulcer was found (I saw the pictures) and after two monhs of treatment I got the second one.  The ulcer is gone.  It was painless, quick, without bad effects afterwards at all. I feel relaxed, alert, could eat...  like a normal day with a nice 30 mins. nap.  You will be fine.

Peace and good.

Being out for those 2 +/- hours, I felt more rested than any full night sleep I've ever had.... I'm hoping I'll need another one soon.

to clarify... I was actually only KNOCKED out under sedation for roughly 30-45 min... but then I slept in the recovery room (waiting for my ride) for another 90 min or so.

Piece of cake.  The worse part is getting the IV started.  But once that is going you will have a good nap and when you wake up it will all be over.  I do not recall even having a sore throat afterwards.
