One year ago today......who could have known?

Isn't it just amazing Dana, how we have changed over the past year; it's really hard to wrap my head around it. Every time I see your before and after picture when you post, I have to just stare; the look on your face in the after picture really says volumes. I think the most profound change is how I think of myself now, I'm not disappointed about my failure to control the weight and that is a huge burden to unload.

Love, love, love my DS!

Yep, you really nailed it, I was tired, defeated and depressed, I felt like such a failure, even though I had many great things in my life, the inability to control my weight really bothered me.

I'm so grateful I found the DS board and the DS, it has truly changed my life!

What a beautiful post, Kerry! I'm sorry I missed this yesterday, switch bro! I was without internet access here in GA for my 1-year follow-up, and here I sit now in Starbucks crying over my venti breve. I'm so happy for you, for me, and for every one of us who is experiencing the miracle of this surgery. Rock On, Bro'!!

There you are Anna! I was wondering where you were yesterday, knowing it was your 1 year too.

Sorry to make you cry, but I just had to try and say what I'm feeling; it's powerful stuff inside and very difficult to explain. I know you know what I'm talking about, it's just really hard to 'splain.

Hope you had a great day and everything checked out perfect!

Kerry--sorry I missed your big day. I just wanted to chime in here with the chorus and say how wonderfully you have done and how much we appreciate your paying it forward here every day. You make revisions look not so bad! (AND Dr. Rabkin look good too--love that man and his team!)

Congrats on a big, amazing year. Keep living the good life!

Thanks Nicolle, it's been an amazing year and I owe so much to the Peeps here, Dr. Rabkin, Barb, my Fam etc. I've been so fortunate to have all the support and help from every angle. I feel like the luckiest man alive!

Kerry!! Happy Surgiversary!! As one of the older crowd around here I agree totally with you. The DS has been the most liberating thing I have ever done. LOL...I now swap clothes with my 15yr old granddaughter. My BW, as did your Barb, never said one word about my weight and he supported me 150% from the very start of my journey. We are lucky...and blessed! For us life began in our 50s.
Keep rockin that DS of yours...it just keeps gettin better!

Thanks Stormy, it's pretty amazing how young I feel now; a year ago I felt old and worn; now I feel like I'm 30 again. You're spot on too about how lucky & blessed we are to get another youth to live starting in our 50's. I can't wait for tomorrow; a year ago I dreaded the next day's arrival.
