It's exciting, isn't it? I have not had my DS yet, my surgery date is October 19th.

I have lots of information bookmarked, so if you have questions or are looking for something in particular, feel free to PM me.

Absolutely, all that and more. If it's meat you can enjoy it. Imagine going to a cheese bar at a nice grocery place and trying every single cheese they offer, and it's all health food to you!!

I just spent a month in Montana with my sis and BIL. Had a whole deep freezer full of beef at my disposal. I worked my way through more steak, prime rib and other yummies than you can imagine. Beef twice a day, virtually every day. Whenever we went out to eat, I found another way to eat a plateload of beef. HEAVEN.

Now, you are going to be eating SMALL quantities. But the selection is very, very broad.

I found once I passed 10 weeks, things in the food tolerance department started improving rapidly. My horizons have really expanded in the past two weeks. I think I can even tolerate peanut butter and nuts now, which thrills me no end. Before, it was bad, bad, bad if nuts or seeds crossed my lips.

I know you know some of your options kinda suck, so I'm not going to belabor that point. Just keep trying new protein things every week and you will get there. If you haven't tried them, the Soy Flaxseed Tortilla chips from Trader Joe's are a must! They taste good, seriously, and have about 1/2 g of protein PER CHIP, which is beyond awesome for a chip.

One thing I don't see in your meds list is Reglan. Have you tried that? It helped my nausea a great deal, in combo with Protonix. Reglan helps the stomach move more and push food out faster; my endo said that with as much excess weight in the abdomen as anyone obese has, that keeps the gut from moving properly. (Although in my case, it's also gastroparesis.)

Hope some of this helps, and that you hit that magic improvement marker soon. Then you'll start amazing yourself.

With great power (the DS!) comes great responsibility.

I've tried Reglan, in fact all of the anti-nausea medications. Reglan didn't help... hell, the Zofran doesn't seem to help either, but I do take that daily.

Thanks for the heads up on the Soy Flaxseed Tortilla Chips and hope for the future.

How are you not strapped to the toilet 24/7 with that diet? I can't believe you have lost anything eating and drinking that way. I hope you change your diet ASAP otherwise you just wasted a lot of money on this surgery.

That's what I'm thinking.  How the hell can you even leave the house eating that stuff?  My GOD, is the gas not horrendous?
