Where the heck did my energy go?

Thanks, Neely. I think it's just hard because I can't remember the last time I just sat around doing nothing. Between work, school, and kids that doesn't happen often. I get antsy if I have nothing to do.

It looks like you're coming along great. congrats.
 Best Wishes,

Tammy, I was this way too. In Brazil I was fine, but I got home and hit a brick wall.  I was feeling pretty low from 3 to 5 weeks and then gradually improved.  Just remember to get in as much water as possible so you don't feel nauseated from dehydration.

Rest and relax.

Thanks, Linda. It must just be that 3 week mark when you're body finally says hey, what the heck is going on. I'm getting in as much water as I can although I'm not hitting 64 oz yet. I'm not nauseated so I think I'm doing ok as far as that goes.
 Best Wishes,
Tammy

Where did your energy go????

Hmmm, I hate to admit it, but I may have it! The last two weeks, I've had more energy than I now what to do with. I feel like I'm 30 again; so maybe there are some cosmic forces at work here, stealing your energy and giving it to me. The big problem is that, I like your energy and I'm not going to give it back!  Ha ha ha ha (evil laugh)

Seriously though, I think the energy thing is related to eating and moving more. I started working out with a personal trainer two months ago and it's been amazing how much better I feel, how much more energy I have and how much more I'm eating! I now eat more than Barb does and I'm telling you what, she is getting pissed! I eat all kinds of the really good stuff while she is surviving on rabbit food and on occasional "sensible" meal. Not only that, but I've lost a little more weight than she has, so she is not amused......

My advice is to move and eat more; it sure has worked well for me!

Ya know, Kerry, if you really have more energy than you know what to do with then you really could spare just a little bit.

Please

You are an inspiration with all that you have accomplished since your DS.
 Best Wishes,
Tammy

Tammy,

When I posted that about stealing your energy, I misread your avatar and thought you had the DS in June...woops! You have every reason to feel tired, you've had major surgery which is a real trauma to your body, plus you have been to Brazil and back! Good grief, just the trip would make most people tired and have jet lag. I think you're doing great!

Give yourself a break, relax and sleep, eat what you can, but drink all the fluids you're supposed to and give yourself some time to recover. Good grief, when I was two weeks out, I was still in San Francisco waiting to be released to travel back home to Utah. I don't think I had the energy to even post on OH for another two or three weeks! At a month out, I was still exhausted just trying to take a shower; and it would take me 15 - 20 minutes to get dressed because I would have to stop and rest between the underware and street clothes.

I'm sorry you're feeling crummy, but it's pretty much normal and it will be worth it, just give yourself some time and try to be patient. Before long, you will be swiping energy from the new post-ops!

He's right it is a pyramid scheme where those of us farther out cosmically suck the energy out of all of you new pre-ops. Afterall we need all this energy to keep doing all the new fun things with our new bodies..........................
old ds'ers plot to rule the world...........

now to be serious for just a moment, you just had major surgery your eating very few calories of course your body is going to feel tired. It will get better I promise I have more than enough energy and at times wear my teenages out.

Gratitude is my attitude

Yes, my head knows this, but I just feel helpless when I'm too tired to make it through my shower. I know it gets better, it's just frustrating.
 Best Wishes,
