Where the heck did my energy go?

Absolutely normal.  Part of it is the adrenaline has worn off from going to Brazil, part of it is your body is rapidly losing weight and hormones are shifting like crazy.  Watch your fluids and do your best with protein and it will come back gradually.  It's like a rollercoaster for a while, good days, rough days, but eventually around 4-6 weeks, it balances out.  So, plop in a chair, drink some crystal light and take as many power naps as you need...besides, it will keep you from housework and cooking in the meantime!

Thanks, Denise. Anything to keep me from housework is a bonus. I refuse to let hubby do laundry cause I like my things to keep their original colors, so I've been trying to get that done, but man, one load and I'm done. I do love my chair and my crystal light (walmart generic brand), though.
 Best Wishes,

I think it's common to have an energy drop a few weeks after a surgery. It happened to me after my hysterectomy, after my DS and after my TT--well, after the revision; I never really got any energy back after the first one, and I was in for the revision four weeks later (because of tissue necrosis).

My advice is to listen to your body and give it time and space to heal. It's directing its energies toward what's important, namely getting you all better.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I guess my body is going to do what it's going to do whether I agree with it or not. I should enjoy the time I get to just sit back and relax. It's unlikely to happen again anytime soon.

Tammy - I am right there with ya hun. I have zero energy as well. Some days I feel like I might have just a tad but if I'm lucky it will last about an hour. I even sit in the shower on a stool and feel completely exhausted when I get out. I am really really hoping that my energy bounces back soon so I can go back to work and get back to feelin like my old self but better. We have to hang in there!!!!

Exactly. I don't have a stool in my shower so towards the end my body is just screaming for me to hurry up and get out. I step out and have to sit on the edge of the tub till I have the energy to dry off then I can make it to the bed where I have to lay down for 20 minutes. That's so pathetic. I can't wait to feel like my old self, or a better version of that.
 Best Wishes,
Tammy

Remember, it takes a lot of energy for your body to heal itself.  You are definately still in the healing stage.  Listen to your body, if it says sleep then sleep.  I remember being at that stage not too long ago and sleeping the day away (and the night too).  You heal when you sleep, so sleep.

Glad you are home safe and sound from Brazil. Congrats on your weight loss so far, you are doing awesome. I'm 9 weeks out and still need at least one nap a day. I am more active now and take my daughter on outings throughtout the day but we are both tired by the time we get home. I'm still waiting for my energy to return. Some days are good some are bad. I'm so happy for you that you were finally able to be switched.
