Where the heck did my energy go?

I was 3 weeks out as of yesterday. I've been doing ok. I've been up and out every day since getting home from Brazil. I don't think I've overdone it because I've really been taking it easy even when we're out. BUT yesterday I just totally crashed. I had 0 energy. I was lucky to get up out of my chair AND I took a nap in the afternoon which I haven't done since a couple of days post-op. I'm forcing myself to get up and out again today, but honestly I would love to just spend a whole other day just sitting in my chair.

Normal...not normal?  Any suggestions as to getting some level of energy?
 Best Wishes,

Definitely normal for me. I'm about 7 weeks out, and I still have days where I don't want or can't do anything. I've been waiting for my energy to come back. Sounds like you've done better than me though. I would do quite a few things one day and the next be zonked. I'm still this way to an extent.

Hope this helps. Take it easy on yourself and rest when you need it.

Thank you. That makes me feel better.

The logical side of me knows that after 3 weeks I'm not going to be up to doing a whole lot, but the rest of me just wants to get up and go and my body is just not cooperating.

I dunno where your energy is - but if it's having a tea party with my energy somewhere... send it back to me pronto.

PS - Nice to read your posts gain - glad you made it home safe - I just got home yesterday.

So nice to see you home Susie. How was it for you? Were you alone? And the kiddos are fine I presume? Rock that DS!

Haha   it's nice to see you home. I think I used all my energy in Brazil. I felt like I had a whole lot more there. The last couple of days have been really bad. I'm sure it's all about recovery time and lack of calories, but damn, I feel like crap.

I'm glad to know it's not just me. I have to lay down for 20 minutes after taking a 10 minute shower. I feel helpless.

Hope it gets better for you too.

I had the same thing happen, too. At week two, I was feeling pretty good. Then at week three, I just fell apart. I've seen a couple other forum members say the same thing, so I think it just happens to some of us.

Be prepared for a few slothful weeks. It will get better, eventually. And dontcha wish "eventually" meant "in five days," instead of "when your body is good and ready." Goodness knows I do!

Glad you are home and healing.

With great power (the DS!) comes great responsibility.

Ugh! It's frustrating. I was feeling a little better every day, doing a little more every day, and then BAM 5 steps back. I'm really glad now that I took 6 - 8 weeks off work.
