Hi!  Surgery is the 21st (!!) and annoucing my lovely angels- MinneMichelle & Tranquil!!  The gals decided I'm such a handful that I'd need 2! LOL!!
Every opinion we share, every favor we perform, every moment we intently listen to someone talk about themselves is our opportunity to pass along something positive to a person who needs us.

I owed it to myself to research the Duodenal Switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out: DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.

Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy to be normal...People concern themselves with being "normal" rather than natural.....

bigpretty is having a revision today (8/20/2009), from a silastic band (pre-Lap Band) to an RNY.

I'm a DSer myself, but she is in my general St. Vincent's support group, and I am supporting her with general "surgery day" information, as well as helping her with her grocery shopping and appointments.

We are all on a weight loss journey, no matter which method we choose.

Good luck to bigpretty!  I am just beginning to research to find a surgical and doctor approved by Medicare as a Center of Excellence so that they will pay.  How was your experience with Dr. Inman?  Do you know how many BPD-DS she has done?  Thanks!  Charlee

I don't know how many DS surgeries she has done, but I do know this:  If you are having a DS, St. Vincent's is the hospital you want to go to, and Dr. Inman is the surgeon you want to have.

I have it on good authority that among her peers, she is considered to be among the best of the best.

It was her manner during our consultation that sold me on having her for my DS.

St. Vincent's is one of the few hosptials that has a specialized Bariatric Unit, so everyone on the floor has had some kind of bariatric surgery.
