Saddle bag thighs - Fashion tips anyone?

I had a thigh plasty (not a body lift) in 2003.. I know exactly what you are talking about. They did an elliptical cut and took them right out, I have a scar going from under my butt to the front middle of my thigh. My saddle bags actually became painful... and I couldn't find anything to fit. The recovery and pain was difficult and I had to finance it, but I'd do it all over again. Not sure what my body will look like after I lose weight, time will tell.

Good luck!!! I'm sure you'll find your style! Or... you should submit your story to What not to Wear!
Have a great day!

YES, they DO become painful.  And I often bruise there from close fitting seats.

I didn't know you could have just a thigh plasty without the rest of the lower body lift.  It might be something I will have to consider and even finance.  It would certainly eliminate a number of roadblocks for me.

I have looked at the before and after pics of saddle bag thighs on some plastic surgery sites and I would pay to look like most of the before pics, let alone the afters.  I never did see any before pics that were as extreme as mine appear to be.

Thanks for sharing about your thigh plasty.  I'm betting you had moments of tears when seeing the saddlebags gone!

Most people think of an inner thigh lift, or the body lift... but mine was the outer thigh. All those years ago it was just under $8k. But I looked at it this way... I broke it down to a yearly cost and thought, WOW! I'd pay that yearly for the rest of my life. No regrets.

Mine were almost like a shelf, but an upside down shelf on my outer thigh. Sound right?

It was quite the transformation, and yes I cried! I keep pics in my dresser so I can appreciate what I have and the scars I own. I did have a hard time sitting in seats as well.

Great, this post is making me want to spend money. That second dress is adorable!! I might have to purchase it.

You guys are giving great advise! I am 5'10, but my thighs are an issue on the inside. I think these clothing suggestions are awesome. Who needs Clinton and Stacy?

I'm more of an hourglass myself, but I DO have that Violin deformity.  I found that a little lycra works absolute wonders, though.

No good advice for you on clothes- I'm short and still pre-op!  I do have a shoe suggestion for you- cute little kitten heels!  If you want to wear cute shoes with a little bit of a heel for skirts or dresses, a 1 1/2 - 2 inch kitten heel is just enough to get you out of the weird stunted look you can get with flats, and they're decently stable.  I can't do anything much higher for any real period of time- I have bad feet and weak ankles, so the pressure of all my body weight in heels just kills my feet.
